Work Underway to Modify Entrance to Downtown Bethesda

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation is modifying a high-traffic entrance to downtown Bethesda near the National Institutes of Health. Part of the median at the intersections of Woodmont and Wisconsin avenues will be demolished in order to narrow the turn lanes onto Woodmont Avenue from southbound Wisconsin Avenue to one lane. The change is designed to slow vehicles as they make right turns from southbound Wisconsin Avenue onto Woodmont Avenue. It also makes pedestrian crossing safer, according to Jeff Burton, executive deputy director of the Bethesda Urban Partnership. The project is expected to be completed in the fall.

KARMA by Erwin Gomez Debuts at Park Potomac

Celebrity makeup artist and beauty guru Erwin Gomez launched the second location of his high-end beauty oasis, KARMA by Erwin Gomez, in May. Along with co-owner and partner Sab Shad, Gomez debuted his salon at the upscale Park Potomac dining, retail and lifestyle destination, located just steps away from The Perry luxury residences and local dining favorites Founding Farmers and Addie’s.

KARMA Park Potomac is the latest addition to Gomez’s growing beauty empire, providing the District’s celebrity, politico and VIP clientele with the same level of cutting-edge hair, makeup, spa and nail services they have come to expect from the beauty savant. From Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson to A-list actresses Jennifer Garner, America Ferrera, Tina Fey and Ashley Judd to vintage supermodels Beverly Johnson and Christie Brinkley and political heavy hitters Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi, Gomez has put his golden touch on an enviably long roster of bold-faced names over the years.

KARMA’s services cover the spectrum of hair, skin, body, makeup and nail treatments, and include Gomez’s signature eyebrow sculpting technique, on-trend cuts and color, mani-pedi services, age-defying facials, lash extensions and much more.

“From the design and atmosphere of KARMA to our lineup of five-star artists, we are committed to bringing our guests nothing but the best,” adds Gomez. “We have created an oasis for pampering, offering first-class services performed in an atmosphere that’s both chic and inviting.”
